Vesperlight

Beskrivning

The dark lighthouse isle

Skerrow

Patron
Morrow, the Drowned Mother

A sleepy fishing island at the eastern edge of the isles, where the shoals begin. Skerrow has a harbour, an inn, a few dozen families and a lighthouse that has been dark for twelve years. Since the light went out, the boats come home earlier every year, and the Sallowkin come ashore on the longest nights.

The Wickwardens have sent the players here to relight the Skerrow Light. It needs ten cindrels and a lot of work. Old Pell, the last keeper, still lives in the cottage at its foot; Mira Tallow keeps the inn and keeps the village together.

The lighthouse is the players' bastion, and the Orrery of Thale is a short row away at low tide.

Viktiga personer

Viktiga personer

  • Old Pell, the last keeper of the Skerrow Light, who lives in the cottage and will not talk about why the light went dark.
  • Mira Tallow, innkeeper of the Gull and Lantern, who keeps the village safe and her family's secret closer.
  • Wren, an orphan who sleeps wherever she likes and follows anyone interesting.
  • Fisher families who pray to Ilvara on land and to Morrow at sea.

Viktiga platser

Viktiga platser

  • **The Skerrow Light.** A half-ruined lighthouse on the headland: the lantern room (the Wick) is dark and the stairs are broken above the second floor. The keeper's cottage at its foot is still lived in.
  • **The Gull and Lantern.** Mira Tallow's inn by the harbour, the only warm room on the island after dark. Every quest on Skerrow starts at its fire.
  • **The tide caves.** Sea caves under the headland that flood at high water. Children are told to stay out; Wren does not.
  • **The shrine of the Closed Eye.** A small Choir of Fathoms shrine on the harbour wall, where the fishing families leave salt for the drowned.
