How it works

The tools at the table

Open any of them for a closer look, taken from Vesperlight, our sample world.

  • Battle mapShared map, fog of war and initiative — live.

Upload a map, drop monsters from the compendium onto it and lift the fog as the party explores. Players join from their phones and watch initiative, hit points and conditions change as you play. Put the board on the TV, or run a fight without a map at all.

  • MapsDrawn in Azgaar, Watabou or Wonderdraft, with roads and travel times.

Import a map you drew elsewhere and it comes alive here: names you can move, roads you can draw, and a journey the map times for you. Battles and lore pages start from the same library.

  • Live sessionsShow the table a handout, a map or a battle.

Start the evening and every player's phone follows along: what you show goes on stage, earlier cards stay in a feed, and a whisper reaches one player only. Ending the session drafts the recap for you. A picture, a file or a lore page can be shown for the evening without being revealed for good.

  • Character sheetCounts HP, spell slots and resources for you.

Players build their characters with a guided builder that knows the rules, then play from their phones. The sheet keeps count of everything and rolls straight from every attack, save and skill. The purse counts in your world’s own coins, and every version of the sheet is kept, so a mistake can be undone.

  • Dice trayRoll anywhere. The whole table sees it.

Real 3D dice on every page, in a style you choose. Rolls land in a feed the whole table sees, unless you roll in private. Connect a Discord channel and the table’s rolls land there too.

  • CompendiumThe base content is included. Your own homebrew wins.

Monsters, spells, items, classes and feats come ready to use. Write your own homebrew beside them; where a name matches, yours is the one your world uses. Languages, damage types and conditions are yours to write too, and what you don’t want in your world can be left out.

  • LorePlaces, peoples, factions and a timeline.

A wiki for your world: cities, regions, factions, peoples and a timeline, all linked to each other, plus pages of your own for whatever your setting needs. Rename or hide any section to fit it. Players read it between sessions, and you edit it in one place. A new world can start from a template, such as Vesperlight, or from a world file.

  • Magic systemsYour world's own magic, with its own rules.

Build magic the rulebooks don't have, such as runes, metals or a star-fire that marks whoever overuses it: what each entry does, what it costs and who can use it. It plays on the character sheet like any class feature, and players discover it as you reveal it.

  • Secrets and revealsKeep the truth beside the public story.

Write DM-only notes inside any lore page and keep hidden events in the timeline; players never receive them. People and secrets stay locked until you reveal them to a campaign.

  • CampaignParty, sessions and invites.

Invite players with a link, plan your sessions, track threads and NPC agendas, and publish recaps the party can read afterwards. One world can run several campaigns side by side.

  • One-shotsAn evening adventure with its own pitch and link.

Write an evening's adventure with its own pitch and share a single link to it. A one-shot that works can be promoted to a full campaign.

  • BastionThe party's base, and a clock counting in-game days.

The party's base, with rooms to build, orders to give and an event deck to draw from between sessions. The campaign clock counts the days, so a build takes time in the story too.
