The Kindled Star
Ilvara
Light, sacrifice, vigilance
"She gave her body that the isles might see. Use her light with gratitude, waste none of it, and keep it burning."
The Ilvaric Vigil teaches that the star was a goddess who died to give the islands light, and that every cindrel is a piece of her. To burn one is communion; to hoard one is theft from the dead.
Her symbol is a seven-pointed star in a lantern. Her holy day is Kindling Night, the anniversary of the Fall, when every lamp in the isles is lit at once.
Lamplighters serve her in every lighthouse chapel. The Vigil blesses Brandwork and teaches it as a sacrament.
Worship
Gratitude and watchfulness: waste no light, and never let a lantern go out.
