Harbour of the Seven Lights

The capital of the Ostrel Isles: a walled harbour on the largest island, ringed by seven lighthouses so that no part of the bay is ever dark. Ships put in before dusk; after dusk the harbour chain goes up and the city listens to the sea.
Caerlune is where everything in the isles is decided. The Wickwardens keep their Wardhouse here, the Aurel Combine weighs every cindrel in the isles in its Weighhouse, and the great chapel of the Ilvaric Vigil stands above the harbour with a lantern in its spire.
Last month, one of the seven lights went dark. The Combine says it was a cracked lens. The keepers say the lens was fine.

- **The Weighhouse.** A long stone hall on the quay where cindrels are weighed, priced and quietly hoarded. The scales are honest; the ledgers are not. Seat of the [Aurel Combine](/w/vesperlight/lore/factions/aurel-combine) and of Magnate Corwin Vale.
- **The Wardhouse.** Headquarters of the [Wickwardens](/w/vesperlight/lore/factions/wickwardens): a draughty old fort with a signal loft that answers every lighthouse in the isles in Ebbtongue.
- **Vigil Chapel.** The great chapel of the [Ilvaric Vigil](/w/vesperlight/lore/church), whose spire lantern has burned since 4 AF. Kindling Night is celebrated here.
- **The Seventh Light.** The lighthouse at the mouth of the bay that went dark last month. Its keeper has not been seen since.
