Paladin — Core Class

The paladin is a promise given weight and steel. Where the cleric serves a power and the fighter serves a craft, the paladin serves an oath — a vow sworn so deeply that the world itself seems to bend to honor it, answering the paladin's conviction with genuine, tangible power. They are warriors first and foremost, plate-clad and unyielding, but every blow they strike and every ward they raise is charged with the force of a principle held without compromise.

What makes a paladin extraordinary is presence. They stand at the front and make the space around them safer simply by being in it — bolstering allies' resolve against every fear and failure, mending the wounded with a touch, and unleashing bursts of searing radiance the instant a blade connects. Half warrior and half beacon, the paladin is the unbreakable oath the rest of the party rallies behind.

Signature Feature · Level 2

Divine Smite

When you hit a creature with a melee weapon, you can channel your oath's power through the blow, expending a spell slot to deal an extra 2d8 Radiant damage — rising by 1d8 for each slot level above the first, and by a further 1d8 against Undead and Fiends.

This is the paladin's signature nova: the sudden, searing burst that turns an ordinary hit into a moment of judgement, spent from the same well of power that fuels every spell you know.

2nd	Fighting Style, Divine Smite
3rd	Sacred Oath
6th	Aura of Protection
20th	Sacred Oath Feature

1st Level

Divine Sense

The presence of the unnatural does not escape you. You always have the Detect Evil and Good spell prepared, and can cast it without a spell slot a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier each Long Rest — feeling out the celestials, fiends, and undead that hide among the living.

1st Level

Lay on Hands

Your touch mends what is broken. You carry a pool of healing power equal to five times your Paladin level, and as a Bonus Action you can spend from it to restore a creature's Hit Points. You can also spend 5 points from the pool to neutralize a poison or end a disease — a wellspring of mercy that refills with every Long Rest.

2nd Level

Fighting Style

You hone a signature approach to battle, gaining a Fighting Style feat of your choice — the guard of Defense, the precision of Dueling, the crushing arc of a great weapon, and more. Even a holy warrior needs a soldier's craft beneath the conviction.

3rd Level

Sacred Oath

You swear the Oath that defines you, gaining features at 3rd, 7th, 15th, and 20th level, along with always-prepared oath spells and Channel Divinity options. The four sacred oaths — Devotion, Glory, the Ancients, and Vengeance — are gathered below.

6th Level

Aura of Protection

Your conviction radiates outward as a tangible ward. You and every ally within 10 feet (30 feet at 18th level) add your Charisma modifier (minimum +1) to all saving throws. It is the single most defining paladin feature — a moving fortress of resolve that turns the whole party harder to break.

20th Level

Sacred Oath Feature

At the summit of your path, your oath transforms you body and soul — a Holy Nimbus, a Living Legend, an Elder Champion, an Avenging Angel. Each capstone is unique to the vow you swore, and each turns you, however briefly, into the living embodiment of the principle you have carried all along. See your chosen oath for its final form.
