The teachers who shaped this discipline held to a single conviction: that all motion is decay. Every step spends something that is never returned. Stars wander and burn out; rivers move and grind their banks to nothing; a life that runs headlong runs out. To move is to come apart.

So they learned to be still. Their students train not to strike faster but to need no second step — to plant themselves like a stone the world breaks against, and to let the distance between themselves and an enemy simply cease to matter.

Level 3

Stillness

On your turn, before you move, you can enter perfect stillness — no action required. You can't do so if you have already moved this turn. You remain still until the start of your next turn, and your Speed is 0 for that time.

This turnThe first time you take the Attack action, you make one additional Unarmed Strike as part of that action.
Until your next turnYou gain a +2 bonus to your Armor Class, and you can't be moved against your will or knocked Prone.

Level 6

Void Step

You cross distance by refusing it. As a Bonus Action, you can spend 1 Focus Point to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

This teleportation isn't movement, so you can use it even while still, and it doesn't end your stillness. The first Unarmed Strike you make before the end of this turn deals extra force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.

Level 11

The Fixed Point

Your stillness becomes something the world cannot disturb. While you are still, the bonus to your Armor Class becomes equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum +2), and no effect can move you from where you stand.

Retaliation. When a creature hits you with an attack while you are still, you can use your Reaction to make one Unarmed Strike against it. On a hit, you can also push it up to 10 feet or knock it Prone.

Level 17

Entropy's Antithesis

You become a fixed point against which decay itself breaks. While you are still, you gain all of the following:

EndureYou have Resistance to all damage.
UnmovedYou are immune to being Stunned, Paralyzed, or knocked Prone, and to all forced movement.
CollapseOnce on each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike, it takes extra force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.
